Heyoooo welcome! I’m Laura, originally from Upstate NY and am now proudly serving the Frederick,MD community and the DMV. I am a curl specialist and enthusiast who is here to help you gain the confidence and skills you need to rock your natural texture.

I was the girl who grew up having no idea how to handle my natural texture. I went through the frizzy electrocuted look, the bad haircuts where my hair looked like a Christmas tree, and even tried at home straightening perms because I was over the constant struggle to find a cut or products that worked, I always loved trying new hairstyles and figuring out ways to make my curls and hair look happier.

I have a deep love for curls and helping people understand and embrace them. With over 12 years in the industry, I have never been more in love with my craft. I specialize in curly cuts and adding dimension to your color that are tailored to your lifestyle and texture. This makes your curls pop and be sassy without being high maintenance. I travel at least 1-2x a year for curl education to bring you the most up to date techniques for cutting and color. I’ve been trained in both Devacurl and Rëzo for cutting and highlighting styles.

It’s important to me to carry high quality products. Calura is a color line that is ammonia and PPD free. Paired with Innersense styling products that are plant based, water soluble, highly concentrated, and will optimize shine!

When I’m not behind the chair, you’ll find me enjoying life with my husband and our three super cute doggos! I thrive on traveling, trying new restaurants, and reading (hello fellow romantasy lovers)!

I run my own business inside of Chroma Culture salon in Urbana. Chroma is a collective of women who all run their own businesses and have an emphasis on the community feel.
